How HextGen Started: From a Question to a Mission
Every great idea begins with a question. For us, it was a simple yet powerful one:
"Why aren't you using software to manage your practice?"
This question, posed by one of our founders to his father—a practicing doctor—sparked a journey that eventually led to the creation of HextGen.
What we discovered during that initial conversation was eye-opening. It wasn't a lack of interest or awareness that held back the adoption of software in healthcare; it was the sheer inadequacy of existing solutions.
Uncovering the Problem
Driven by curiosity, we started talking to others in the healthcare community—friends, relatives, and eventually, hospital owners. The feedback was unanimous: the available software systems were either incomplete, inconvenient, or unreliable.
Here are the recurring challenges they shared:
Most systems only solved specific problems, leaving doctors juggling multiple tools.
Traditional software demanded high maintenance, frequent updates, and lacked the flexibility of cloud-based solutions.
Many platforms prioritized financial management, neglecting the operational and clinical aspects of running a practice.

Providers were skeptical of the software's reliability and long-term viability.
As we continued these conversations, one thing became clear: the medical community needed a solution that was both comprehensive and trustworthy.
From a Passion Project to a Startup
What started as an effort to help a few close relatives soon grew into something bigger. We personally connected with over 500 hospital owners, gaining valuable insights into their day-to-day challenges.
The more we learned, the more we realized how widespread and pressing these issues were. Armed with this knowledge, we knew we had to act.
Thus, HextGen was born—a platform built with the singular mission of addressing the unique pain points of doctors and hospitals in India.
